Job Overview

We are looking for a highly capable Budget and Financial Planning Accountant to lead our new budgeting initiative. This role will be instrumental in creating, managing, and overseeing the annual budgets for each department, and will serve as a key liaison between department heads, Internal Accounting, Operations, and the Owner. The successful candidate will be responsible for holding departments accountable to their budgets and educating the team on budget best practices. This is a new role in the company, ideal for someone who can build processes from the ground up and enjoys the challenge of shaping a new functional area.

Responsibilities:

  • Will report to Internal Accounting, Core Ops, and the Owner
  • Develop and implement budgeting processes and systems in collaboration with Internal Accounting and the Owner
  • Work with department heads to establish realistic annual budgets aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Provide ongoing analysis and reports on-budget performance, flagging any variances and suggesting corrective actions.
  • Facilitate budget review meetings to ensure adherence and necessary adjustments.
  • Train and educate department heads and staff on budget best practices, financial stewardship, and accountability.
  • Collaborate with Internal Accounting, Operations, and the Owner to provide clear, concise budget insights and recommendations to the Owner.
  • Continuously update and improve budgeting processes to adapt to the needs of the business.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in budgeting, financial analysis, or related roles.
  • Proficient in financial software and Excel.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience in training and educating staff on financial matters is a plus.

Mandatory System requirements:

  • Internet Speed: At least 10mbps
  • CPU: Core i5 (8th generation minimum) or i7 (8th generation minimum)
  • RAM: Minimum of 16GB
  • Storage: Minimum 256GB SSD or 500GB HDD
  • Operating System: Genuine Windows (Preferably Pro).
  • Audio: A good quality headset preferably equipped with noise cancellation
  • Video: A laptop/PC with a webcam or a good-quality webcam

Working Hours: 

  • Our USA business hours include MANDATORY overlap (8:00 am to 12:00 noon Arizona time)

  • Billable teams ( Bookkeepers, Tax preparers, Customer care, and admins ) expect to work at least 50 hours per week during tax season, and weekends could be required. 
  • We need someone available for on-call emergencies (outside of normal working hours. Only when needed)
